Houston have announced 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony will part ways with the team, after Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey issued a statement on the franchise's website.
Anthony signed a one-year minimum salary back in August, but only managed 10 games for the Rockets, averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in 29.4 minutes per game.
โAfter much internal discussion, the Rockets will be parting ways with Carmelo Anthony and we are working toward a resolution,โ Morey told nba.com/rockets.
โCarmelo had a tremendous approach during his time with the Rockets and accepted every role head coach Mike D'Antoni gave him.
"The fit we envisioned when Carmelo chose to sign with the Rockets has not materialized, therefore we thought it was best to move on as any other outcome would have been unfair to him.โ
According to ESPN, the Rockets won't waive Anthony, and will instead continue to work with his representatives to find him a new home.
