Ahead of the second week of Premier League fixtures, injuries to key Liverpool and West Ham players have hampered this weekend's preparations.

Sadio Mane, who scored a spectacular goal during Liverpool's 4-3 win at Arsenal, is in serious doubt for Saturday's game at Burnley after picking up a shoulder injury.

It was first thought that Mane would be out for up to two months following a dislocated shoulder, although the diagnosis has been downgraded to just a muscle injury.

West Ham's problems are much longer than just one week, as new record signing Andre Ayew will need surgery on a thigh injury, that will see the Ghanaian miss four months of action.

Ayew was forced off in the first half of the Hammers' loss to Chelsea on the weekend, and it's since been determined that his injury will need surgery to fully repair.
