Ahead of a massive Manchester derby on September 10, City forward Sergio Aguero may miss the game through suspension.
The Argentine could face disciplinary action following vision suggesting that Aguero elbowed West Ham defender Winston Reid in the face during City's 3-1 win on Monday morning.
The pair were jostling for position after a clearance from Hammer goalkeeper Adrian, when the City striker appeared to elbow Reid.
Reid needed further treatment and was then substituted following the incident, and the FA are likely to look into the challenge which at worst could see Aguero given a three-match ban.
While covering the game for Sky Sports, pundit Niall Quinn said regarding the play: "He has been a bit naughty, Aguero here.ย He has swung out and he is a lucky boy. If the referee sees that, he is in big trouble."
