Nick Kyrgios

Although Nick Kyrgios did not make it terribly far in last week's masters' tournament in Rome, he did make the most of a fairly unlucky draw.

After dispatching local product Salvatore Caruso in the first round, he beat Milos Raonic for the second time in a few months, notching up another top 10 win on the year. He couldn't go back-to-back though, losing to Rafael Nadal in the next round.

Bernard Tomic

Another week and it just gets weirder for Bernard Tomic. In just the third game of the match, with Bernie actually leading 2-1, he prematurely retired, citing illness.

The legitimacy of this retirement can rightfully undergo questioning, but at the end of the day, it is what is; Bernard Tomic is just having a terrible season on clay.

Samantha Stosur

A disappointing result for Samantha Stosur this week in Rome, losing out in the second round to Svetlana Kuznetsova.

A win against a strong opponent such as Kuznetsova, would've given Sam a big boost mentally, reaffirming that she is still one of the better players on tour. This week she travels to France to attempt to capture a minor tournament in Strasbourg.

Daria Gavrilova

Believe it or not, Daria Gavrilova was the second Australian to fall victim to Svetlana Kuznetsova last week, losing to her one round after she knocked off Sam Stosur.

The loss also means Daria fails to defend a fair chunk of ranking points through a strong showing at the same tournament last year, meaning she has dropped around 10 or 15 spots to world #45.

John Millman

Another understandably disappointing end to the week for John Millman, who was forced to pull out of the third round of his Challenger in Seoul with ankle inflammation.

With Roland Garros and the Olympics coming up, John will want to be 100% fit and firing for both, so taking all care necessary when it comes to injuries is essential.

Jordan Thompson

A short week last week for young Jordan Thompson, losing in the first round of his qualifier in Bordeaux.

Jordan will take a week off this week to prepare for the French Open, which is perhaps the wisest course of action for a player as young as he is.
