Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis is set to jump over 200 places in the ATP rankings after reaching his maiden singles final last week.

Kokkinakis, who was beaten by American Sam Querry 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in Los Cabos, Mexico, will move from No.454 in the world to No.225.

The Los Cabos event was Kokkinakis' sixth tournament since returning from an 18 month layoff due to injury.

โ€œFor me this has been unbelievable,โ€ Kokkinakis said after the final.

โ€œIn two years I have missed so much time.

โ€œI was sitting on the couch doing nothing for two years and now to come back and play at this level and have such a great tournament; what better place to do it than Los Cabos.โ€

Kokkinakis also defeated world No.14 and former two-time Grand Slam finalist, Tomas Berdych, to reach the final.
