Tasmania have claimed victory over South Australia in the WNCL in what was a crazy final over of the match, with the South Australian's defeated after needing just four runs off the final over with five wickets in hand.

The final over carnage was produced by Tasmanian Sarah Coyte, who ended the match 4-30 after a stunning six balls.

Coyte first dismissed Annie O'Neil with the first ball of the over, with South Australian skipper Jemma Barsby stumped just two balls later.

Amanda-Jade Wellington was the next to fall, run out for just one, leaving the South Australian's with three runs required off three balls. The second-last ball saw Ella Wilson out lbw, leaving a three-run chase on the final ball. Thanks to strong fielding from Elyse Villani, the Scorpions could manage just one.

The final over heroics see Tasmania win their second consecutive WNCL title, with Coyte named player of the rain interrupted match in the aftermath.

"It was really bizarre. I don't think I've ever come off (for rain) that much in one game before," Coyte said.

"Easily the best game I've been a part of. The ebbs and flows. You can't even replicate a game like that."

Onlookers watched on in awe as the events on field unfolded, with commentator Peter Newlinds calling the final over "extraordinary".

โ€œThis is extraordinary,โ€ Newlinds said.

โ€œCan you believe that? They have gone back-to-back in the most dramatic circumstances. Look at the scenes out in the middle. They have pulled that out of the fire โ€” and I just do not know what has happened to the Scorpions.
