Former A-League champion James Robinson has joined Brisbane Roar's coaching staff and has been appointed as the Roar's youth coach.

Robinson was a member of the Melbourne Victory's 2006-2007 title-winning season, with his one and only goal in Victory colours coming in the 92nd minute of the semi-final to win the game for Melbourne and see them book their spot in the decider.

The 33-year-old also played for Perth Glory and North Queensland Fury in the A-League, and will beginย his tenure at Brisbane on Wednesday.

โ€œRobbo (James Robinson) had such a young side but they played some really nice football and were really well organised,โ€ Aloisi said of Robinson.

โ€œHe's got a great work ethic and is really committed to coaching. He'll be a great addition at the Roar.โ€

The Englishman will take the reigns of Brisbane's fortunes in both the National Youth League and next year's NPL Queensland competition, and replaces Josh McCloughan who quit last month.
