Victoria coach Chris Rogers has extended his tenure for a further two summers, with the former Australian batsman now penned to the Sheffield Shield finalists until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Rogers first took on the senior coaching role at Victoria in 2020, bringing 120 matches of Sheffield Shield experience with him to the job, having played for Victorian and Western Australia between 1998 and 2015.
The 45-year-old, who played in 25 Tests for Australia as a veteran inclusion from 2008, has taken Victoria to two successive Sheild finals for what has been an impressive opening three years as coach after a one-win campaign across 2020/21.
Cricket Victoria's faith in the first-class cricket great has seen Rogers' contract with Victoria extended for two more years.
In a statement following his re-signing, Rogers expressed his excitement for the future as he looks to guide a young Victorian squad a step further next summer.
"In recent years, our squad has had a blend of some excellent senior players alongside younger players who have needed time and games to develop," Rogers said.
"It's been pleasing to find the balance between player development at this level and winning games of cricket for Victoria, and watching this group of players grow as a collective."
Victoria has recorded a win-loss-draw record of 9-4-12 across their past three Sheffield Shield campaigns.
Rogers tallied a total of 25,470 runs at the first-class level, playing in 313 matches for a batting average of 49.55.
His last Test for Australia would come against England in August 2015, with Rogers' international career coming to an end with five Test centuries to his name.
