Zero Striker is back to give you a run down on what's happening across Europe's other major leagues. As we move into the second international break for the season let's see who is hot and cold in La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1.
La Liga
Spain's first division is now starting to take place with the capital teams dominating the month of September.
Atletico sit on top with 15 points from a possible 21. A 4-0 win over Celta Vigo at the start of the month was followed by a 5-0 thumping of Sporting Gijon before taking a point off Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
Real Madrid sit second with 15 points as well, but they've dropped points in their last three games, drawing to Villarreal, Las Palmas and Eibar. Sevilla have also got off to a great start under Chile's Copa America winning coach Jorge Sampaoli, sitting just a point off top spot.
Barcelona, Villarreal and Bilbao round out the top six with Valencia surprisingly stuck in the relegation zone in 18th.
The pick of the October games will see Atletico and Sevilla go to battle on Oct. 24ย and this could well be a top-of-the-table clash.
Bundesliga
The Bundesliga was going pretty much to plan up until the most recent weekend where both Bayern Munich and Dortmund dropped points. The defending champions drew 1-1 to Koln, while Dortmund were beaten 2-0 by Leverkusen.
Hertha Berlin have been this season's surprise packet so far, sitting second on 13 points. They finished seventh last season qualifying for the Europa Leagueย Preliminaryย rounds, though they lost out to Danish side Brondby 3-2 on aggregate. This season may just be the year the capital has a side that qualifies for the Champions League.
At the other end of the table, Schalke have had a shocking start to the season, winning just the one game which has them currently in the relegation zone. After taking part in last season's Champions League, Wolfsburg have fallen from grace, currently positioned in 13th having finished eighth last season.
The weekend following the international break will see second versus third as Dortmund host Hertha on October 15. The Revierderby between Dortmund and Schalke takes place on October 30 and that is always an exciting fixture to watch.
Serie A
Everything is pretty much going to the script in Italy. Juventus sit top with 18 points and four points clear of the league's second strongest side Napoli. They're followed by both Romanย teams, as Milan and Inter are still struggling and both are mid-table at the moment.
The pick of September's games was Inter knocking off reigning Champions Juventus 2-1 at the San Siro. Juventus haven't lost since that game and have scored eight goals without conceding in the proceeding three matches.
Strikers Gonzalo Higuain, Mauro Icardi and Carlos Bacca have all started the season in excellent form, scoring six goals each to top the golden boot table.
Juventus have dominated Serie A over the years, winning the last five titles. The last team to claim the league other than 'Juve' was Milan in 2011. New title contenders have emerged in recent seasons with Roma and Napoli pushing Juventus, but that's all its been, just a push.
Last season, Juventus came from deep to win the league after a poor start to the season. This time around they've started on fire and don't look like they're going to be caught.
Ligue 1
Ligue 1 is looking refreshingly competitive this season with a host of teams challenging PSG's dominance as the Champions look to focus on going deep in Europe.
Nice led by a revitalised Mario Balotelli are the league leaders with 20 points from nine games. They're followed closely by Monaco in second who welcomed back Colombian striker Falcao in the off-season.
The defending champs sit third, four points off top spot while PSG's biggest rival in recent seasons,ย Lyon, sitย fifth.
There are a few good games to look forward to after the international break. Fourth-placed Toulouse take on Monaco on October 15 while Nice take on Lyon. A derby between PSG and Marseille, built up as a match representing the glamour of Paris and the working class of Marseille, will be a decent match to watchย on October 23.
Enjoyย all the International football over the next week or soย and remember, matches from all four of these leagues are regularly shown on Foxtel via Bein Sports.
