Sydney FC captain Alex Brosque has added fuel to the fire of the Sydney derby, telling supporters at the club's season launch that he hates the Wanderers.

Brosque said he treated the game different to any other, and said his side's hatred for Western Sydney has helped them be so successful against Tony Popovic's men.

โ€œYou definitely can [get too hyped], you feel the anticipation and excitement that comes into this gameโ€ฆit's more than any other game,โ€ Brosque said.

โ€œI'd be lying if I said you treat it like any other game.

โ€œWe go out there, and I've told the boys previously in games, we hate every single one of them.

โ€œWe have to play well and win. I think that could be part of the reason why done well against them recently.โ€

A record crowd of 65,000 is expected for Saturday night's derby, and Brosque is more than looking forward to the game.

โ€œWe're very excited about the squad we've assembled for this year, there's a lot of quality to add to what we already have.

โ€œThe training has been great and our [Westfield FFA] Cup form has been good as well. It doesn't get any bigger than playing our main rivals on Saturday night.

โ€œIt's hard to contain what we're feeling, we just can't wait to get out there.โ€
