Head of the UFC Dana White has taken drastic action in response to Conor McGregor's tweet about his retirement.

White confirmed on ESPN's Sportscenter that he has removed McGregor from UFC 200 in July.

โ€œConor didn't want to come to Las Vegas and be part of any promotional training,โ€ Whiteย said.

โ€œHe's in Iceland training.

โ€œHe felt leaving right now would hurt his training. But every other fighter on the card is coming.

โ€œIt doesn't make you exempt. We spend a lot of money on this stuff.

โ€œIs Conor McGregor retiring? Only he can answer that question.

โ€œBut he will not be a part of UFC 200.โ€

Earlier, McGregor dropped a bombshell, announcing that he will retire at a young age from UFC.

McGregor made the shock announcement via a crypticย Twitter messageย on Wednesday, writing, "I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya's later".

The Irishman sent the Tweet the day after landing in Iceland to continue his preparations for his fight against Nat Diaz at UFC 200.

It is uncertain whether or not the Tweet is a hoax, however, several sources, including MMA reporter Ariel Helwani, believe that McGregor's Tweet is no joke.

The 27-year-old'sย coach also sent a cryptic tweet out, adding further fuel to the fire.

McGregor wasย due to takeย on Nate Diaz atย UFC 200 in July in Las Vegas.
