Oklahoma City Thunder star, Russell Westbrook has been named the NBA's Most Valuable Player for season 2016-17, winning his first League MVP.
Westbrook finished the season with a record 42 triple-doubles, while also leading the league with 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game.
The point guard beat Houston's James Harden and San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard to win the award.
In other awards, Milwaukee's Malcolm Brogdon was named the NBA Rookie of the Year, becoming the first player not picked in the first round of the NBA Draft to win the award.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was named the Most Improved Player, whileย Houston's Mike D'Antoni won the Coach of the Year award for the second time.
Meanwhile,ย Eric Gordon won the Sixth Man of the Year award, after he broke the record for the most three-pointers off the bench.
