The Pittsburgh Penguins have clinched their second straight Stanley Cup, with a 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators in Games 6 on Monday (AEST).
The Penguins became the first team since the Detroit Red Wings in 1997 and '98 to defend their crown, however, more significantly, the first team to do so in the salary cap era.
The win seals Pittsburgh's fifth NHL title, equaling the Edmonton Oilers to sit sixth on the all-time list of Stanley Cup winners.
Sidney Crosby took home his second Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
