New signing Pedro Rodriguez opened the scoring on his Chelsea debut, as the Blues narrowly beat West Brom 3-2 to claim their first win of the season.
The Spanish international netted a brilliant opener to give his side a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute, after dancing through the West Brom defence.
Pedro then turned provider just 10 minutes later as he crossed for the waitng Diego Costa, who tapped in to make it 2-0
However, the home side should have scored first, after receiving a penalty when Nemanja Matic was deemed to have tripped Callum McManaman in the area. But James Morrison had his penalty saved by the outstretched leg of Courtois.
West Brom finally got some reward and made it 2-1 in the 36th minute, with Morrison making up for his earlier miss.
Azpilicueta then made it three for Chelsea in the 43rd minute, to make it four goals in a half of football in an entertaining affair at The Hawthorns.
The match then took another turn, when John Terry was given a straight red for bringing down Rondon, who was closing in on goal.
The hosts then took advantage of the extra man to make it 3-2 five minutes later when James Morrison headed home his second of the match.
West Bromwich Albion failed to find another goal, as Chelsea held on for a much needed win.
