Following the shockย axingย of head coach Scott Miller on Wednesday, the Newcastle Jets have sacked assistant coach Luciano Trani.
Trani will leaveย the club with immediate effect.
The 50-year-old onlyย joined the club less than four months ago.
He has also spent time at Wellington Phoenix, Adelaide United, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City as an assistant coach.
The Jets released the following statement a short time ago:
Newcastle Jets Assistant Coach Luciano Trani has left the Club with immediate effect.
Newcastle Jets Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lawrie McKinna, confirmed that Trani had been released from his role at the Club on Thursday afternoon.
โWe have chosen to give the Club's new Head Coach the opportunity to appoint his own Assistant,โ McKinna said.
โLuciano joined Newcastle Jets in June this year and has helped prepare the squad for the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 Season.
โWe wish him well in his future endeavours,โ McKinna said.
As a result of Trani's departure, Newcastle Jets Youth Coach Clayton Zane will oversee first team training until further notice. Zane will also be at the helm of the first team on Sunday when the Jets play Edgeworth FC at Jack McLaughlan Oval.
