Team Vortex duo, Craig Lowndes and Steven Richards, had a Bathurst 1000 to forget, however, they are hoping to put the disappointment behind them at this weekend's Gold Coast 600.

While Craig has had some strong results in the past, he knows the coming weekend won't be an easy one, especially as there is no room for error with the street circuit lined with concrete walls as it twists and turns around the buildings on the famous Queensland beach.

However, he is looking to complete the Enduro season on a high note come Sunday afternoon and as such will give it all he has so that the prized reward of a surfboard will be in his hands when allย  is said and doneโ€ฆ

โ€œThe Gold Coast 600 is always expected to be tough weekend, there's no doubt that. The streets of the GC are quite demanding and it's a non-forgiving circuit, so both Steve and I need to make sure we're comfortable in the car. Strategy plays a big part in this race and with the concrete walls everywhere, we need to make sure the car rides the curbs well,โ€ Craig explained.

โ€œThe preparation is no different to any other race weekend for us โ€“ it's going to be quite demanding on the body, so coming out of Bathurst we need to make sure we're fit, healthy and ready to go. It's also a matter of what the weather presents, the GC track is always much hotter than most other circuits because of the enclosure of the concrete walls, so that's something we'll take into consideration when we get down there.โ€

โ€œWe'd like to finish off the Pirtek Endurance side of the competition on a positive note and it's probably one of the best races to win from a trophy aspect โ€“ getting a surfboard is something we're always looking forward to. We very mindful of how we went in Bathurst and we want to bounce back from that."
