Dave Warner has hurt his thumb at training ahead of Friday's third Test against New Zealand.
Warner was hit on the same thumb that he injured in the UK in September during the second ODI against England, forcing him to miss the rest of the series.
The Australian opener was in some discomfort after attempting to catch a high ball during a fielding drill at Adelaide Oval, less than a month after returning from a fractured thumb.
He left the field with team doctor Peter Brukner, but has since returned to training to attempt to bat in nets to test out the injury.
David Warner leaves fielding early after he appeared to re-injure his thumb. Looked nasty. See the pictures first on @FOXSportsNews
