Australia find themselves with fortune, as they will avoid their Trent Bridge bogey ground next year after English confirmed the schedule for the 2019 men's Ashes series.
Next winter will be massive for Australian cricket in the UK, with the Ashes following on from the men's World Cup, where reigning champions Australia will be seeking a record-setting sixth title.
In a new twist for one of the oldest rivalries in sport, the 2019 Ashes will be played under the new ICC Test Championship for both teams, which will see nine of the Test nations compete in six series over two years - three home, then three away.
The Ashes Tests, which are sure to be strengthened by a strong travelling group of supporters, will begin on August 1 at Edgbaston.
There will then be a week's break between that Test and the second at Lord's, with the third in Leeds.
The series will then move to Manchester's historic Old Trafford ground before its traditional final stop at The Oval in South London.
Australia will play through eight Tests before the Ashes, two against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, four against India and two more against Sri Lanka at home. This will give those in the squad a chance to firm their stance and gain form.
The World Cup final is fixtured for July 15 of next year, giving the Australians little more than two weeks to prepare for the Test series should they make it to the tournament's final.
