Brisbane Heat's chances of breaking through to the franchise's first final in a decade have received a shot in the arm with Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne and Matthew Renshaw all set to feature in the do-or-die clash against the Melbourne Renegades on Sunday.
The trio's selection comes after each was selected to tour India next month, with the Australian's plane scheduled to depart on Tuesday.
While this tight turnaround had initially placed the trio's availability in jeopardy, AAP have reported that the BBL have granted the Test stars a green light to help Brisbane press to feature in their first final since the 2012-13 season.
Ironically, if successful in Melbourne, the Heat will face their foe from that very night in the Perth Scorchers after the perpetual powerhouse booked their place in a record eighth decider with a seven-wicket win over the Sydney Sixers in Perth on Saturday.
Though Khawaja was unable to confirm whether he would be in Melbourne following the Heat's washout win over the Thunder on Friday, the in-form batter is expected to join Labuschagne and Renshaw for the knockout bout at Marvel Stadium.
"We're obviously going away for six-and-a-half weeks," Khawaja stated after the win over his old side.
"There's a lot happening right now."
Heat head coach Wade Seccombe was happy to show his cards however, stating that the trifecta of Aussie internationals would be wearing blue on Sunday night.
"Uz and Marn batted beautifully the other night and we're delighted to have them stick with the group for another match before they go to India,'' Seccombe said.
The opening ball of the season's penultimate fixture is scheduled for 7:15 pm (AEDT).
