Artem Chigvintsev, the husband of WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, has been arrested on a charge of alleged domestic violence but has since been released.
According to TMZ, Chigvintsev was arrested earlier today for felony corporal injury to spouse or cohabitant but has subsequently been released after posting a bail of $25,000.
"Chigvintsev was booked on a charge of felony domestic violence, and bond was set at $25,000," Officer Henry Wofford said viaย NBC News.
"Being booked does not mean he has been formally charged. The Napa County District Attorney's Office will file any charges in the case.
"Details about the victim, any relationship, and where the arrest took place were not being released because of concerns about the victims' privacy."
No further details have been released at this stage, but it is understood that the arrest occurred two days after Chigvintsev and Bella (real name: Nikki Garcia) celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary.
A former performer for WWE, Bella retired from the sport in mid-2019 after debuting in 2008 alongside her real-life sister, Brie Bella.
Throughout her career, she was highly regarded as one of the best women wrestlers and held the WWE Divas Championship twice which saw her inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020.
