New England Patriots (3 vs 24) New York Jets
Vintage Rodgers.
The Jets' vet QB threw for two touchdowns and 281 yards at 77% completion on Thursday Night Football, delivering by far his best performance in a New York jersey so far.
The Patriots have well and truly fallen back to earth following their shocking week one upset in Cincinnati, with not much to be thrilled about on either side of the ball in their three-point performance.
Excitingly for the Jets, the defence looked back its best with seven sacks, while the offensive receiving corpse shared the love with eight contributors on the night.
New York Giants (21 vs 15) Cleveland Browns
Daniel Jones' last two games have quietened talks of a Giant quarterback crisis for now, once again throwing for more than 200 yards and a couple of touchdowns.
His connection with Malik Nabers was crucial in the win, gaining 78 yards and two touchdowns from his eight receptions.
The New York defence had a field day, sacking Browns QB DeShaun Watson eight times.
Amari Cooper was one of the few shining lights for Cleveland, also receiving two scores from his seven catches and 86 yards.
Chicago Bears (16 vs 21) Indianapolis Colts
The Bears are leaning on rookie QB Caleb Williams more with each week and while his production is increasing, his struggles are continuing.
363 yards gave Chicago decent territory, and his first passing touchdowns will be remembered fondly, but two picks and a lost fumble will unfortunately dominate the news cycle, especially in a five-point loss.
Colts QB Anthony Richardson will also be feeling the pressure despite the win, completing just ten passes at 50% with two picks as well.
Running back Jonathon Taylor was the difference on the night for Indianapolis, rushing for 110 explosive yards and two touchdowns.
Houston Texans (7 vs 34) Minnesota Vikings
The new-look Vikings look like the real deal the way Sam Darnold has been slinging the ball this season.
This may be the most shocking result of the season so far; the Vikings dominating the Super Bowl hopefuls with Darnold throwing four touchdowns to four different receivers.
102 yards rushing for Aaron Jones plus 81 yards and a touchdown for superstar receiver Justin Jefferson was too much for the Texans' defence to handle, as was Jonathan Greenard for the Texans' offense, reaching C.J Stroud three times for the day.
Philadelphia Eagles (15 vs 12) New Orleans Saints
New Orleans' ridiculous run of offensive dominance was bound to stop eventually, and it was Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles who were too strong in week three.
The running back continues to show why he is the recruit of the season so far, rushing for 147 yards at nearly nine-per-carry for two scores.
Dallas Goedert may well take the season record for most receiving yards by a tight end in a single game, catching and dashing for 170 from just 10 receptions.
Saints QB Derek Carr fell back to earth with his 142 yards, one touchdown and one interception, while RB Alvin Kamara fought admirably for his 87 yards from 26 carries.
Los Angeles Chargers (10 vs 20) Pittsburgh Steelers
Jim Harbaugh's first loss as Chargers' head coach came from a dominant possession battle victory by the Steelers, who took the field for 63 offensive plays to to Los Angeles' 40.
An ankle history to quarterback Justin Herbert amplified the aching result for the Chargers, who could've established themselves as one of the teams to beat in the AFC with a week three victory.
But it was Justin Fields and the Steelers who stole the limelight with their performance at home, the quarterback recruit throwing for 245 yards, a touchdown, and surprisingly just six rushing carries.
Calvin Austin III was the biggest receiving threat on the day with 95 explosive yards and a touchdown.
Denver Broncos (26 vs 7) Tampa Bay Bucaneers
The surprises just continue early in the season, as the Broncos notch their first win of the season with a career best night for rookie QB Bo Nix in his short career thus far.
Nix dunked down 25 completions for 216 yards while rushing for 47 and a touchdown in the win. RB Jaleel McLaughlin chimed in for their only other touchdown, while Wil Lutz did the damage with 12 points off the boot.
Tampa Bay faced somewhat of a reality check with their performance, Baker Mayfield throwing for their only score of the day; a touchdown pass to Chris Godwin, but also threw a pick, while the Denver defence pressured well with seven sacks.
Green Bay Packers (30 vs 14) Tennessee Titans
The Packers have had an ideal run awaiting Jordan Love's return from injury, winning both games he has missed thanks to some offensive dynamism led by head coach Matt Le Fluer.
Malik Willis has stepped into the quarterback role and delivered two handy performances, this week throwing for 202 yards and a touchdown from just 13 completions, and running for another score with 73 rush yards and over 12 a carry.
Receivers Christian Watson, Jaylen Reed, Emmanuel Wilson, Tucker Kraft and Romeo Doubs all found space for more than 10 yards a catch on very limited targets, while the defence did their job; picking off another two Will Levis mistakes and getting to him eight times.
For the Titans, the QB struggles continue, with a lost fumble adding to Levis' two interceptions.
Carolina Panthers (36 vs 22) Las Vegas Raiders
Andy Dalton where have you been?
This Carolina performance came from nowhere, knocking off the team coming off a win over last year's AFC runner-up, Baltimore.
With Bryce Young benched, Dalton diced the Raiders' secondary with 319 yards and three touchdowns to Chuba Hubbard, Adam Thielen and Diontae Johnson, who was the best receiver on the day with 122 yards.
Hubbard also gained 114 yards on the ground while the Las Vegas offense couldn't garner the same chemistry despite their three touchdowns.
Miami Dolphins (3 vs 24) Seattle Seahawks
A rough start for the Dolphins in their first game without Tua Tagavailoa, failing to get enough territory to even worry the Seahawks at home.
Neither Miami backups, Skylar Thompson or Tim Boyle look like taking the Dolphins very far, failing to get receiving weapons Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle involved much in the game.
Seattle wasn't perfect, with Geno Smith throwing two picks, but 104 yards for DK Metcalf on just four catches, plus two scores for RB Zach Charbonnet took the Seahawks to a convincing win.
Detroit Lions (20 vs 13) Arizona Cardinals
A response from Jarrod Goff and the Lions after last week's disappointment, beating an in-form Arizona side on their home-field.
Goff was far more accurate this time around with 18/23 passing for 199 yards and two touchdowns, but it was running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs doing the bulk of the offensive damage with nearly 200 yards combined.
Kyler Murray couldn't even approach the form he displayed in week two, this time round throwing for a relatively inefficient 207 yards, one touchdown and a pick.
Receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was closed down effectively and the Cards couldn't enough winners to drag them over the line
Baltimore Ravens (28 vs 25) Dallas Cowboys
This could've been the comeback of the season, nearing the realms of New England's 28-3 Super Bowl miracle, but wasn't to be as Lamar Jackson and the Ravens closed their first win of the season.
Jackson was prolific with nearly 270 total yards and two touchdowns, but Derrick Henry stole the show with his best game in purple, rushing for 151 and two touchdowns also.
Dak Prescott did his best to lead the comeback, throwing for 379 yards and two touchdowns, but did not overcome the Ravens, who took the Cowboys' defence to task and allowed no sacks on Jackson.
San Fransisco 49ers (24 vs 27) Los Angeles Rams
It looked like business as usual for the 49ers in the opening quarter, breaking away with two touchdowns to no score.
Brock Purdy continues to produce impressive numbers, throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns to Jauan Jennings, who had a field day with 175 yards to go with the three scores.
But it was the Rams who, despite boasting a depleted receiving corpse and relatively average production all over the field, including quarterback Matt Stafford, completed a thrilling fourth quarter comeback to the shock of all watching, scoring 13 points to three in the decisive term.
Kansas City Chiefs (22 vs 17) Atlanta Falcons
The Chiefs just keep winning. They are yet to produce a convincing four-quarter performance this season, but just scrape to victory every week with championship DNA.
Once again Patrick Mahomes was underwhelming for his lofty standards, throwing another pick with his 217 yards and two touchdowns. Travis Kelce was nowhere to be found again, while Rashee Rice did the bulk of the receiving damage.
Kirk Cousins also threw a costly picks and was shaky at times in the pocket, but the Falcons kept themselves close enough to steal a famous win, only to be held back in the dying stages by Steve Spagnuolo's game-saving defence.
Jacksonville Jaguars (10 vs 47) Buffalo Bills
An ugly outing for the Jags, conceding a game-ending margin by half-time against an explosive Bills offence.
There wasn't much to celebrate at all for Jacksonville, failing to lay one sack or even a single tackle-for-loss on the Bills, as quarterback Josh Allen did as he pleased.
Allen threw four touchdowns from his 23 completions and 263 yards, leading the team with a further 44 yards rushing also. He would be the clear MVP front-runner at this stage of the season.
Trevor Lawrence struggled again for the Jags, throwing a pick and an inefficient 178 yards before backup QB Mac Jones stepped in.
Washington Commanders (38 vs 33) Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals fall to a devastating 0-3 record after a riveting battle with young stud QB Jayden Daniels and the Commanders.
The rookie threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns with 21/23 passes completed, while rushing for another score in a clinical performance. His late game throws to Terry McLaurin to seal the win were a thrilling sight for the Washington faithul.
Bengals front-man Joe Burrow showed why he is still one of the top QB's going around the league, throwing for three touchdowns himself and 324 efficient yards, with the largest bulk going to star receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who caught two scores.
Unfortunately, the performances of their two stars weren't enough to notch their first win of the season as the Bengals fall into a worrying early season hole.
