The Melbourne Mavericks have named five training partners for the upcoming 2025 Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) season as they look to strengthen their squad and build on their success from last year.
The Mavericks have confirmed that Nyah Allen, Jessie Grenvold, Montana Holmes, Kristiana Manu'a and Uneeq Palavi have joined the team as training partners.
โWe are delighted to welcome such an exciting and diverse group of athletes to the Mavericks for 2025," coach Tracey Neville said in a statement.
"Each player brings a unique skill set and the type of competitive edge that will push our squad to new levels.
"Nyah's versatility in the shooting circle, Kristiana's defensive tenacity, Jessie's game smarts, Montana's work rate, and Uneeq's creative flair โ these athletes are going to bring so much to our environment. I can't wait to see them in action.โ
Nyah Allen:ย A rising netball star in Australia, she is able to play as a Goal Attack (GA) and Goal Shooter (GS) and is a product of the Victorian leagues. Known for her calm composure, she was previously at the Collingwood Magpies and will be looking to make an immediate impact.
Jessie Grenvold:ย An emerging South Australia star, she made her debut for the Mavericks in 2024 and was named MVP of the Victorian Netball League as she continues to elevate her game to new levels.
Montana Holmes:ย Returns to the Mavericks once again after being a training partner in 2024 and will be eager to take to the court for the maiden time in 2025.
Kristiana Manu'a:ย A fierce defender, she makes her return to the Mavericks with experience in Australia and New Zealand - spent time with GIANTS Netball. Able to read the game easily, she will be a key figure in the Mavericks defence this season.
Uneeq Palavi:ย A standout player in the 2023 Netball World Cup for Tonga, she has been compared to Cat Tuivaiti and brings versatile, power and creativity to the court. She returns to the Mavericks after making her SSN debut for the NSW Swifts last season.
