Philadelphia 76ers superstar Ben Simmons suffered a left knee injury in today's win over the Wizards and did not return.
The 76ers needed everything to go right in the NBA's Orlando hub if they wanted to challenge for the title. Well, three games into the restart and things are not looking good.
Despite getting the win 107-98 over the Washington Wizards on Thursday morning (AEST), the game was soured by the injury to Aussie Simmons.
Late in the third quarter, Simmons came off an offensive rebound poorly and suffered an injury to his left knee. He was taken down the tunnel and did not return.
He finished with eight points, six rebounds and four assists in his 22 minutes of game time.
Simmons' MRI came came back clean, according to The Athletics Shams Charania, but he'll be monitored and take it day-to-day.

This is just another injury for Simmons to overcome, having suffered a back injury earlier in the season.
