Tiago Monteiro will not be participating in the next round of the WTCC in Japan this coming weekend, October 28th/29th .
Although the Portuguese driver's health is improving more and more each day, his medical team has decided once again it is better for Tiago to stay in Portugal and continue to recovery from the problems caused by his testing accident in early September.
Although he knows that his physical condition is not yet at its optimum, this decision was difficult for Tiago to accept:
"It is normal to be disappointed, but I cannot take risks with respect to my physical health. Despite all my efforts and treatments, my body is healing very well, but it still needs a little more time to get back to normal,โ Tiago said.
In fact, the possibility of winning the world title he had hoped for in 2017 is slowly slipping away.
"Although this is a difficult reality to accept, I cannot do anything but look ahead and prepare myself for a return to competition, which I hope will be done quickly," he said.
The Japanese GP, on Honda's home ground will take place this coming weekend, October 28th/ 29th
