Prodrive Racing has confirmed that Energy drink giant Monster Energy will be staying on board as a major player in the Supercars championship after signing a new deal for the upcoming 2018 season.

Monster Energy will remain as title sponsor on the #6 Monster Energy Ford piloted by Cameron Waters with the 23-year-old showing exceptional speed this season, including his maiden Supercars win at the Sandown 500 in September.

Monster Energy Oceania Marketing Director, Tim Ryder, was delighted to be reaffirming the brand's strong presence in one of the world's leading motorsport categories.

โ€œMonster Energy has had a long-standing association with Motorsport and we're excited to extend our partnership with Prodrive Racing and Cam,โ€ Ryder said. ย โ€œSome of the world's best drivers run the iconic M-claw logo and it's great to have that association with one of the sport's up-and-coming superstars in Cam Waters.โ€

โ€œSupercars is the biggest motorsport product in Australia and we're looking forward to seeing the Monster Energy team stepping foot on the podium, plenty next season.โ€

With the Sandown win and recent podium to his name at the last weekend's Gold Coast 600, Waters is keen to be back racing for Monster Energy for a third season in Supercars.

โ€œIt's awesome to be back with Monster Energy for a third year and I'm pumped for 2018 and getting some more wins for the team!โ€ Waters said. โ€œMonster Energy is such a cool brand to work with, there's so much crossover with other sports and athletes like here today [with Speedway riders] and that can be a massive help in itself being able to spend time with world champion athletes and gaining valuable knowledge from them.โ€

โ€œI feel like I've proven myself in 2017 and that we have the right package as a team both technically and commercially to fight for titles, and that is the goal. I'd love to win a Championship with Monster Energy on my car and pay them back for all the support they've shown in getting me to pinnacle of Australian motor racing.โ€
