The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees may currently be competing against one another in the World Series, but that hasn't stopped reports emerging that the Dodgers are interested in one of their rival's best players.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Dodgers are interested in signing Yankees superstar Juan Soto for next year, per people familiar with their thinking.

In what would be another massive signing for the Dodgers, the franchise signed over $1B in player contracts last offseason, including $700M for Shohei Ohtani and $325M for pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Soto is set to become a free agent after the World Series and will become one of the most sought-after players during that period, having shown his prowess in the past two games.

The four-time All-Star and 2019 World Series champion joined the Yankees for this season after stints with the Washington Nationals (2018-22) and San Diego Padres (2022-23).

“Ohtani would've been one of the best. Now he went to the NL, I went to the AL, so it's been a little tricky, but definitely, Ohtani would be one of them,” Soto said on All-Star Media Day when asked to name a player he would love to be teammates with.
