Central Coast Mariners youngster Jake Adelson has suffered a rupture to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during the Mariners' pre-season friendly against Wellington Phoenix on Saturday.
This is the second time the 20-year-oldย has ruptured his ACL, and he'll now spend an extended period of time on the sidelines.
The Australian was signed to Everton's Youth Academy in England in 2012, and played for the U18s and U21s on Merseyside before returning home to Sydney in 2014.
Adelson signed with the Mariners in 2015 and made his A-League debut in Round 7 of the 2015-16 season against the Melbourne Victory.
