Afghanistan has announced their squad to take on Pakistan in a three-match series against Pakistan in Twenty20 matches.

Star Twenty20 spinner Rashid Khan will lead the side, whilst veteran Mohammad Nabi has been recalled.

Nabi has been recalled to the squad after stepping down as captain after the T20 World Cup in Australia.

He will take the place of Rahmat Shah and Hazratullah Zazai who have both been dropped from the Afghanistan set-up.

The 37-year-old has played over 100 T20I in the Afghanistan uniform and has had stints in the Indian Premier League, Big Bash League, Bangladesh Premier League and The Hundred.

The allrounder will bring efficiency to the squad as a strong middle-order batter who can deliver effective overs with the ball.

"We look forward to an exciting competition between two great teams. Both nations have passionate fans who support their teams with enthusiasm and pride," Afghanistan Chief Executive Office Naseeb Khan said.

"As neighbours, we have a special bond and we hope to showcase not only our cricketing skills but also the spirit of friendship and sportsmanship."
