After months of Arsenal fans crying out for a new striker, Arsene Wenger has finally found his man, signing striker Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna.

The 27-year-old joins the Gunners for a reported fee of around £17 million, although the length of his contract has not been disclosed.

Perez scored 19 goals in all competitions last season, and is a very welcome addition to Wenger's squad.

“He's not only a goalscorer, he's a guy who combines well with partners, who can give a final ball and makes good runs," Wenger said on Perez.

“He's got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year.”

Joining Perez at Arsenal overnight was German international Shkodran Mustafi.

The 24-year-old comes in to provide much needed depth at the centre back position, and reported cost the Gunners £35 million.

Mustafi was in Germany's 2014 World Cup winning squad and appeared at Euro 2016, and has made the move to England following two successful seasons at Valencia.

“He is at the right age... and he has good experience,” Wenger said.

“He is a very focused player who can play with the ball as well. We have taken a great player but have prepared well for the future.”
