Australia need to beat India this summer in order to prove they are indeed the world's best test team.
That is according to Newscorp's Robert Craddock, Australia surpassed India to be deemed the traditional formats best, for the first time in 4 years.
India are set to tour Australia this summer for a four match test series and Craddock believes the hosts will have it all to prove.
“Australia's the No.1 team in name only,” Craddock told SEN's Whateley.
“They have to beat India. We don't feel like the No.1 team.
“If you sat down and had a beer with a player and said, ‘do you feel like the No.1 Test team in the world', they would say, ‘mate, let's be frank about it, we've got beat India next summer'.”
Australia have been unbeaten across all formats during the last home summer and retained the Ashes following a drawn 2-2 series.
Australia also overtook Pakistan to become the No.1 ranked nation in T20 cricket for the first time.
