India are set to rule out star quick Jasprit Bumrah for the entire Border-Gavaskar series.
Bumrah was already scheduled to miss the first two Tests as he recovers from injury, with Australia falling heavily in Nagpur to a three-spin, two-pace bowler attack ran out by the hosts.
Ravindra Jadeja was the difference between the two sides, but quicks Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj bowled well in limited overs during a Test which was over inside three days.
Australia batted just 96.2 overs across the entire game, with the quicks picking up 3 wickets from a combined 21.3 overs between them.
A Telegraph report out of India however is now suggesting that Siraj, Shami and the duo of Jaydev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav, who were overlooked for the first Test in Nagpur, will round out the series, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India unwilling to risk further injury to Bumrah by rushing him back for the third and fourth Test.
It's believed that the fact India are hosting the Cricket World Cup later this year had a large part to do with the final decision on the recovery status of Bumrah.
India will likely continue using a spin-laden attack for the remainder of the series on pitches in Delhi, Indore and Ahmedabad which are all likely to be dry and take turn.
It's unclear if Bumrah, who has been out of action since September, will be fit in time for the one-day component of Australia's tour in India, which will directly follow the four Tests.
