We have done the Australian Open report card for the top-10 in the world, now it's time to take a look at how some of the Australians from the men's side of the draw performed.
#20 – Bernard Tomic
Result: Fourth round
Grade: A
Each year we wait for Bernard Tomic to impress us at our home slam, and so far, he has failed to do so. However, this year he was unlucky enough to run into Andy Murray in the fourth round, so excuses can be made.
Hopefully with another impressive year this year, Bernie can build upon his current ranking of world No.20 and climb into the higher echelons of the seedlings for next years' Aussie Open.
#41 – Nick Kyrgios
Result: Third round
Grade: B+
It's hard to say Australia was expecting more out of Nick Kyrgios, given that no-one ever knows what to expect, but coming off a victory over world No.2 Andy Murray and his first ever career title, one would have expected a little more out of the wild thing.
After a fairly cruisey first two rounds, he faced big-serving Czech Tomas Berdych in the third round – a very winnable match by Kyrgios' form. Despite taking out the third set 6-1, Kyrgios couldn't quite get his head together (again) to put in the full performance he would have liked.
#70 – John Millman
Result: Third round
Grade: A+
John Millman may have had one of the most surprising Opens out of all the Australians on show. The world number 70 racked up two impressive wins against Diego Schwartzman and Gilles Muller, both players ranked above him.
However, he was unfortunately drawn against Tomic in the third round, and Millman would go no further. While he did push the Aussie number one, he fell in straight sets. Here's to a great year for ‘Millmania'.
#76 – Sam Groth
Result: Second round
Grade: A
Sam Groth was one of two Aussies Andy Murray had to fight his way through to reach the final of The Australian Open.
Groth ran into the Scot in the second round, after an impressive battling win over the more fancied Frenchman Adrian Mannarino.
#104 – Matthew Ebden
Result: First round
Grade: B
Matthew Ebden had one of the easier first round draws he could've hoped for, playing Spaniard Marcel Granollers.
Unfortunately, his body let him down, which hindered any great impact he wouldd have on the match. He did manage to take a set off him however.
#139 – James Duckworth
Result: First round
Grade: B-
Poor James Duckworth got the draw that almost no one wanted, let alone no Australian, forced to play Lleyton Hewitt in the first round.
Despite having played some good tennis in the lead-up to the Open, James was bounced in straight sets. Lleyton is always a difficult prospect to play but Duckworth would have hope for a tighter contest.
#146 – Jordan Thompson
Result: First round
Grade: B
Jordan Thompson is finally beginning to find his feet in the tennis world, getting into ATP main draws more consistently.
He didn't manage to take a set off Brazilian number one, Thomaz Bellucci, but at this stage, it's all a learning curve for the young New South Welshman.
#267 – Omar Jasika
Result: Second round
Grade: A+
18 year-old Victorian Omar Jasika achieved all he could have wanted to at the Australian Open – winning a match (over a top-100 player) and making a name for himself among the Aussie public.
Omar almost took the first set off world No.9 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, but couldn't quite hold his nerve and lost in straight sets.
#301 – Lleyton Hewitt
Result: Second round
Grade: A+
Everyone in Australia wanted Lleyton Hewitt to win just one last match at Melbourne Park, and he managed to do it. For this, as well as his contributions to Australian tennis over a decorated career, he receives an A+.
He was simply outclassed by David Ferrer in the second round, but in classic Lleyton style, went down fighting.
