The Blues have officially confirmed their squad for the 2025 Super Rugby season.

The squad is a mix of young blood and veteran experience with over two-thirds of the roster made up of players who have been developed in the Blues region.

After one season in Japan, New Zealand All Blacks star Beauden Barrett returns to the team and is joined by Payton Spencer, the son of All Blacks great Carlos Spencer.

Other members of the squad include the next generation of stars in Caleb Clarke and Hoskin Sotutu. However, Bryce Heem has been ruled out with a wrist injury.

โ€œI think we'll start ahead of where we were last season, we can take the results and experience gained last time round and build on it this year, โ€ said Blues head coach Vern Cotter.

โ€œI'm looking forward to getting in with everyone, reconnecting and getting back to work. It will be good to get to know the new squad members and see what they're all about.โ€
