Tom Brady has led Tampa Bay to a historic win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55.
Brady claimed his seventh Super Bowl ring and was awarded with his 5th Super Bowl MVP award.
Tampa dominated the game from start to finish as Brady affirmed his claim as the games greatest ever player after he outshined the NFL's highest paid athlete Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes didn't throw for a single touch-down in his second straight Super Bowl as his offensive line fell apart on the biggest stage.
Brady-led teams had only scored three first-quarter points in his previous six Super Bowl appearances but after the quarter-back threw to old friend Rob Gronkowski for the games first touchdown he had bucked the trend.
A Brady dominant second period saw him and the formerly retired Gronkowski combine for a second time before Antonio Brown got on the end of a Brady bullet to extend the lead going into the half time break.
After The Weekend blew everyone away with an incredible half-time show, it was back over to Brady and the Tampa Bay defensive line to run the show.
Mahomes was under pressure constantly and was unable to generate any momentum as he struggled to get the Chiefs' offence going.
The Chiefs' offensive failings forced them to rely purely on field goals to hit the scoreboard and they lost touch with Tampa more and more as the game rolled on.
When Leonard Fournette ran in another touchdown the game was all but out of the grips of the Chiefs.
All eyes were on the 43 year-old Brady who has now won more Super Bowl titles then any franchise in the NFL.
The final period was a dour affair as the Buccaneers were in party mode eventually running away 31-9 winners.
Tampa Bay became the first team to win the Super Bowl in their home stadium.
Post-game Brady embraced his family, saying the achievement was made all the more special by the challenges the franchise faced this year.
"I'm so proud of all these guys down here," Brady said.
"Everything we had dealt with all year. We had a rough month in November. We had all the confidence in us. The team had a lot of confidence. We came together at the right time.
"I think we knew this was going to happen, didn't we? We ended up playing our best game of the year.
"This team is world champions forever. You can't take it away from us. "
