Chelsea's crisis has escalated even further after Eden Hazard missed a penalty as Stoke City progressed to the Capital One Cup quarter-finals.
A Loic Remy last gasp equaliser took the tie with Stoke into extra-time, after Jon Walters's cracking opener put Jose Mourinho on the brink of another disaster.
Despite Phil Bardsley being sent off, Stoke hung on for the extra 30 minutes and then prevailed in a high quality shootout, which was decided when Hazard's spot-kick was spectacularly saved by Jack Butland.
Mourinho gave another bitter post-match interview after the game. Despite saying his side put in “such a good performance”, four times he told the interviewer “you don't understand that because you don't belong to the game”.
