Fixtures for the ICC Cricket World Cup have finally been released, with Australia to get their campaign underway on Sunday, October 8 in Chennai against hosts India.
The ten-team tournament, which England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, South Africa and India automatically qualified for, gets underway with England and New Zealand playing in Ahmedabad on October 5.
The last two teams were decided at a qualifying tournament in Zimbabwe, with Sri Lanka and the Netherlands booking their place at the tournament.
2023 will be the second time the World Cup has been played with a full ten-team round robin in a single group.
The final of the World Cup will be played on Sunday, November 19 in Ahmedabad, with the semi-finals to be played on Wednesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 16 in Mumbai and Kolkata respectively.
Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata will all host matches throughout the tournament.
After playing India, Australia will play South Africa in their second match in a high intensity start to the tournament, before taking on a qualifier, Pakistan, the other qualifier and New Zealand through October, before playing England, Afghanistan and Bangladesh to conclude the group stage in November.
