Australian bowling hero Scott Boland will return to the Big Bash this year after signing a three-year deal with the Melbourne Stars.
Boland played for the Stars between 2013-2019 before heading to the Hobart Hurricanes. He did not play in last year's Big Bash after being selected to play for Australia's Test team.
However, Boland has announced his return for this summer and will provide some relief for the Stars after it was announced that Adam Zampa will be moving to the Melbourne Renegades.
"I'm happy to be signing with the Melbourne Stars for the next few years," Boland told The Howie Games.
Boland famously collected six wickets on his Test debut against England in the 2021 Boxing Day Test in front of friends and family on his home turf the MCG.
"Pretty happy to be back bowling on the MCG. I think one, it suits my bowling and those big square boundaries but being able to be home through the Christmas period with family and friends will be pretty special," Boland said.
"I really enjoyed my time down in Hobart, they were a really family-friendly club but to be back home in the green at the 'G, yeah I can't wait."
Boland is currently part of the Australian squad in England for the Ashes series, and collected two wickets in the First Test at Edgbaston.
