David Warner has admitted that a busy Australian summer has left him feeling "exhausted" ahead of Australia's four-test series of India set to commence in February.

Warner's summer included a recent stint in the BBL for the Sydney Thunder, with their season coming to an end on Friday night at the hands of the Brisbane Heat.

Prior to that, Warner featured for Australia in ODI's against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, England and the West Indies, while also playing each match of the T20 and Test series held in Australia.

After his BBL loss, officially marking the end of his summer of cricket, Warner conceded that the schedule had been draining.

"It's been challenging," Warner told media.

"I'm quite tired, exhausted."

The Australian team are set to travel to the subcontinent in the coming week, but will first attend Cricket Australia's Allan Border Medal, a prized evening set to award Australia's top individual award.

With few rest days between now and his flight to India, Warner has admitted that he would have preferred the night off.

"There are a few guys who have gone to the UAE League, which aren't going to the Cricket Australia awards," Warner said.

"From my perspective, that would've been nice to have had another night at home. But it is what it is."

Despite expressing his feelings of exhaustion at the end of a busy few months, Warner's next summer looks to be just as busy with a ODI World Cup serving as the lead-in to a test summer and another year with the Thunder.

"Hopefully next year I can come out and be a little bit fresher than what I am at the moment," Warner said.

"It's going to be a long lead-in to our summer.

"From a personal point of view, I'm going to have to try and work out how to stay nice and fresh."

Australia's four-test tour of India commences on February 9 in Nagpur.
