Nate Diaz has stunned Conor McGregor - submitting the Irishman in the fifth round of their UFC196 clash.
Diaz stepping up on less than two weeks' notice after McGregor's original opponent, lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, withdrew due to a broken foot.
McGregor, 27, started strong, winning the first round until Diaz came out firing in the second.
A hard right hand rattled McGregor who got desperate and failed in a take-down attempt which led to Diaz submitting the Notorious one.
Earlier in the night Holly Holm has sensationally surrendered the bantamweight title she took from Ronda Rousey, with Miesha Tate crowned the new champion after an upset victory at UFC 196.
