England batsman Ollie Pope has signed with BBL franchise the Adelaide Strikers as a pre-draft addition ahead of the BBL|14 season.

Pope brings international Test experience to the Strikers' squad and will join a lethal batting lineup consisting of Chris Lynn, Matt Short and D'Arcy Short.

The 26-year-old has played 60 T20s in his professional career, having featured for the London Spirit, Welsh Fire, Gulf Giants and Surrey across his promising white-ball career.

"Signing with the Adelaide Strikers is an incredible opportunity for me," Pope said.

"I've been watching the Big Bash since I was a kid, and it's always been a competition I've been eager to be a part of. Adelaide is such a fantastic city with a vibrant cricket culture, and the Adelaide Oval is one of the most iconic grounds in the world.

"I'm really looking forward to playing in front of the passionate Strikers fans and being part of a team with such a strong reputation.

"The chance to rub shoulders with some incredible players and contribute to the team's success is something I'm truly excited about. I can't wait to get started."

The Strikers open their BBL|14 campaign against the Sydney Thunder on December 17, with their first home game to come three days later against the Melbourne Stars.

The BBL Draft will be held on Sunday, September 1.
