The Money in the Bank ladder match is one of the most exciting matches that takes place in the WWE.
First conceptualised in 2005, the match sees competitors fight for the Money in the Bank briefcase which hangs suspended above the ring. In this no-disqualification match, superstars can do and use anything in their power to get their hands on the briefcase.
Since 2010, the Money in the Bank ladder match moved from Wrestlemania to an individual premium live event. It is now considered one of the "big-five" premium live events in the WWE calendar (Wrestlemania, Survivor Series, Summerslam and the Royal Rumble acting as the other four).
From 2005 to 2018, the match was a male superstar-only event. However, in 2018 the first-ever women's Money in the Bank match took place and has been a yearly staple since.
The winner of the match is awarded a title contract which they can 'cash in' at any point within a year of winning the match. The superstar who cashes in on a current champion gets a title match right then and there, regardless of the situation.
Over time, we've seen some incredible matches take place. Who can forget the first-ever Money in the Bank match won by the "Rated R Superstar" Edge? Or more recently, Iyo Sky's incredible win that saw her cash in and win the title from Bianca Belair only moments after the EST defeated both Charlotte Flair and Asuka in a triple-threat match for said title?
With so many memorable moments, here are all the winners and eventual cash-in results since the match's inception.
