The highest-ranking tennis official in France is under investigation only days out from the French Open after law-enforcement agencies seized documents from his home and office.

France's financial prosecutors' office said it had carried out searches at the French Federation offices and president Jean Gachassin's home relating to possible โ€œmisappropriation of property and influence trafficking.โ€

The searches relate to the alleged existence of โ€œan illicit system of reselling tickets for the French Open tournamentโ€ and the โ€œawarding of the contract for the renovation and enlargement of Roland Garros.โ€

Prosecutors told local media the searches resulted in the โ€œseizure of documents useful to the investigation.โ€The French Federation said it was โ€œfully cooperating with the investigators.โ€
