The Force India F1 team confirmed today that they will be giving 19 yer old George Russell a chance to show what he can do behind the wheel of a Formula One car at this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix when he climbs behind the wheel of the VJM10 for the opening ninety minute free practice session.

The British racer, who was recently crowned GP3 Champion, will also drive the opening practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend later this month, taking control of Sergio's car in Brazil and Esteban's in Abu Dhabi.

โ€œI'm extremely excited to be driving in free practice for Sahara Force India in Brazil and Abu Dhabi,โ€ he said. โ€œ2017 has already been a year full of great opportunities and to top off the season with these two outings feels fantastic. "

"I've never driven the VJM10 before or driven at Interlagos, but I'm really looking forward to the challenge. I would like to say a big โ€˜thank you' to Sahara Force India for this opportunity and also thank Mercedes for their continued support.โ€

This will not be George's first time behind the wheel of an F1 car as he took part in the Hungary test earlier this season with Mercedes.
