Formerย Parramatta Eels and San Francisco 49ers player, Jarryd Hayne, says his biggest regret from his NFL career was that he did not quit NRL earlier to pursue his American football dream.
Speaking to Fairfax Media, Hayne said he should have tried his hand at the sport sooner in order to give his body more time to adapt.
โMe not having that college history, I think a lot of the guys adapt to it a lot faster because they've had the college playbooks at thought," Hayne said.
โI was always behind the nine ball just learning in general. The guys playing in college were just that far ahead.
โThat was the biggest thing, just knowing and wishing I had a couple of more years up my sleeve.
โIf I had a couple more years up my sleeve 100 per cent I know what player I could have been.
โBut time is of the essence and now I'm on to my next adventure and it's brought me to Fiji.
โIt was an extremely hard decision leaving the NRL and something that if I was confident I would have made earlier, but I just wasn't.โ
Hayne sensationally quit the 49ers last month to pursue an Olympic spot in the Fijian Rugby Sevens squad for the Rio Olympics later this year.
