Australian wicketkeeper batter Alyssa Healy has declared herself fit for the upcoming World Cup opener after suffering a minor setback with a calf injury ruling her out since midway through December.
Healy remains a key stakeholder in the Aussie's hopes of securing their third consecutive T20 World Cup, with host nation South Africa standing in their way in Group A as a formidable force on home soil.
"I'm feeling really good, ticking all the boxes," Healy said.
"I'll be definitely right to go for that first game and hopefully get some (warm-up) games in before then."
The 32-year-old admitted the stint on the sidelines was a testing one with watching the game as an inactive member not a strong suit of hers,ย "I've absolutely hated every minute," she said.
"I hated watching the cricket on the TV; I couldn't be a part of any of the cricket. It's a lesson for me to make sure I'm looking after myself moving forward if I want to be a part of stuff."
The Meg Lanning run side will do battle with old foes New Zealand in a mouthwatering opening encounter on February 12, with alarms needed to be set to watch the 4am (AEDT) start of their title defence.
