A hotel guest has posted South Africa's plans to the New Zealand side on Facebook, after the document was accidentally slipped under his door.
The document was intended for fast bowler Dale Steyn with his name written on the top of the piece of paper.
The dossier explains the areas to bowl to the each New Zealand batsman, how different batsman cope with different length deliveries and the best options for bowling at the death of the innings.
The first match in the three game ODI series starts on Wednesday in Centurion.
