The 17th at TPC Sawgrass is one of the most iconic holes in all of professional golf.

Any green that sits less than 150 yards from the teebox is always going to see the eyes of today's long-bombers light up.

However, on an island unto itself and spring's winds prone to whipping, landing on the dancefloor is no mean feat, with many golfers proving happy enough to land in the sandtrap just to save a stroke.

Still, where the is a will there is a way, as proven by the 13 golfers who have scored holes-in-one on the 17th in the 49-year history of The Players Championship.

While, mathematically speaking, the odds of seeing anyone ace the picturesque hole are low, three players - Alex Smalley, Aaron Rai and Hayden Buckley - nailed their strokes in the same year.

2023 Alex Smalley
2023 Aaron Rai
2023 Hayden Buckley
2022 Shane Lowry
2019 Ryan Moore
2017 Sergio Garcia
2016 Willy Wilcox
2002 Miguel A. Jimenez
2000 Paul Azinger
1999 Joey Sindelar
1997 Fred Couples
1991 Brian Claar
1986 Brad Fabel

And while many weekend warriors will see the hole as one they could master themselves, recent history has proven just how tough the par 3 can be for amateur golfers.
