The ICC has officially changed the pitch rating used in the third test between Australia and India from a "poor" rating to a "below average" rating.
Announced yesterday, a Wasim Khan and Roger Harper panel reviewed footage from the test and deemed "there was not enough excessive variable bounce to warrant the 'poor' rating".
The match which only lasted seven sessions saw 26 wickets fall to spinners.
When the "poor" pitch rating was declared, match referee Chris Broad wrote in his report that "the pitch, which was very dry, did not provide a balance between bat and ball, favouring spinners from the start".
Heading into the test series, Indore was not one of the four original venues but was brought into place when the Dharamsala outfield was deemed poor.
The other three pitches in the series - Nagpur, Delhi and Ahmedabad - all received "average" pitch ratings.
