Over the next 18 months, the Australian Cricket team faces a heavy load of cricket, capped off by test tours of South Africa, India and England and the ODI World Cup.
It all kicks off next month as the Aussies head to Sri Lanka for a long stint, facing Sri Lanka in three T20s, three ODIs and two test matches. From then on, there's some kind of Australian cricket happening every month until the ODI World Cup in India at the end of 2023.
It is understood by Fox Sports that somehow within this jam-packed schedule, Australia will uphold their tour of South Africa sometime in 2023. This happens after Australia pulled out of their 2021 series due to health concerns amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Aussie team looks to be making up for 2020 and 2021, in which they did minimal travel. They have already toured Pakistan this year. Following July's Sri Lanka tour, they'll head to India in September for a T20 series. With the T20 World Cup at home in November, that series will be crucial toΒ Aussie success.
With such a heavy schedule you can expect to see some irregular names in the Aussie side. It's hard to see Pat Cummins or Mitchell Starc to be playing in every game slated. Their arms might fall off.
This year, the T20 World cup and summer tests are crucial. While in 2023, the India tour, the Ashes, the South Africa tour and ODI World Cup all take place.
Planning around which games crucial players will take part in and when they will rest, will be key to the Australians hopes of winning as much as they can.
