Brisbane Heat opener Josh Brown is being linked with a move away from the Heat to join a new club for the next season of the Big Bash League (BBL).
Brown made his presence known during last season's finals with tremendous back-to-back performances for the Brisbane Heat - 140 off 57 against the Adelaide Strikers and 53 off 38 against the Sydney Sixers in the final.
These stunning innings saw him earn his first international T20 contract in Bangladesh for the Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League.
While clubs may not officially sign or re-sign players for the next season of the BBL due to there being an embargo period in place, Brown is off-contract and will likely end up away from the Brisbane Heat.
As reported byย Code Sports, in a surprising move, the Melbourne Renegades are the favourites to land Josh Brown from the Brisbane Heat for the next BBL season.
In 23 BBL innings, Brown has scored 624 runs with an average of 27.13 and an impressive strike rate of 149.64 - 43 fours and 53 sixes.
He has also received two man-of-the-match awards and taken seven catches in the field.
